The hardness or TH indicates the total concentration of calcium and magnesium salts: 1 °fH/0.562 °dH hardness corresponds to 10 mg/l (ppm) calcium carbonate. The harder the water, the greater the risk of deposits of calcium and magnesium salts on the walls. On the other hand, water that is too soft is aggressive and corrosive.
