Biopect is a dietary supplement recommended for digestive disorders (diarrhoea). Biopect is a dietary supplement for calves and other young animals (piglets, lambs, kids, foals). Biopect can be used during periods of risk or digestive disorders (diarrhoea) and is a good supplement to a course of antibiotics. Biopect is a finely granulated, agglomerated and homogeneous, dust-free product with high solubility and no risk of segregation. Biopect helps restore the natural balance in the intestinal flora, stabilises the fluid and electrolyte balance and provides energy.

Biopect contains a wide range of special plant fibres that have different properties and effects. Some fibres combine with liquid to form a protective layer that settles on the damaged intestinal villi. Other fibres bind moisture, harmful bacteria and toxins that are excreted with the faeces. Finally, some fibres stimulate the formation of beneficial bacteria and support good digestion.

Biopect has an optimal nutritional salt composition with a high SID value that ensures rapid restoration of electrolyte and fluid balance and normal bowel function:

Dextrose provides the calf with easily digestible energy and stimulates the absorption of electrolytes in the intestine.
Alkaline buffers stabilise the acid-base balance of the blood and promote the absorption of water and sodium.
The composition of Biopect optimises and strengthens the intestinal bacterial flora and ensures that the calf recovers quickly after a period of gastrointestinal problems.

Biopect is optimised for use in milk, allowing nutrient supply to continue and minimising weight loss due to digestive disorders.

Composition: Dried fruit pulp (apple, citrus), dextrose, sodium chloride, sodium acetate, psyllium husks, maltodextrin, sodium bicarbonate, potato starch, chicory root powder, carob powder, potassium chloride, magnesium oxide.

Technological additives: E281- sodium propionate

Administration:

In case of digestive problems (diarrhoea): 1 g of biopect per kg of body weight twice a day for 3 to 5 days.
If there is a risk of digestive disorders (diarrhoea): Give half the amount for 2-3 days.
If Biopect is used in water for more than 3 consecutive days, other feed must be given, e.g. milk/milk substitute.

Calves:

Dosage: 50 g Biopect, mixed into 2 litres of warm milk/milk substitute (approx. 40 °C)
Mild cases: Twice daily for 3-5 days.
Severe cases: During the first 24 hours, the dosage may be administered up to 4 times, depending on the severity of the digestive disorders. The following days: as in mild cases. In water, the dosage should be doubled: 100 g in approximately 2 litres of 40 °C warm water for the first two administrations. After this, it should be dosed in milk/formula as in mild cases.
Preventive: Half dose for 3 days.
The dosages listed apply to a calf weighing approximately 50 kg. Adjust the dosage based on the weight of the calf.

Piglets:

Biopect in formula milk or water: Give 50g of Biopect twice daily for 3-5 days per 2 litres of formula milk or water.
Biopect as a top dressing on dry feed: Give 1g Biopect per kg of live weight twice daily for 3-5 days.

Other animal species: 1 g Biopect per kg live weight in milk, artificial milk or as a top dressing on dry feed twice daily for 3-5 days. When mixed with water, use double the dosage of Biopect.

Ensure that the animal receives sufficient water. It is advisable to consult your vet before use and before extending the period of use.
