Safe recycling of packaging
We sometimes receive bottles and containers that are not completely empty or are missing their caps. We understand that this can sometimes be overlooked.
That’s why you can download our handy guide here.
👉 Tip: hang it up in your recycling room.
The risk of residual product
If containers are not empty or have not been rinsed, residual substances may react with one another (for example, acids and chlorine). This can create hazardous situations for our staff and may even lead to the formation of strong vapours in our warehouse. For safety reasons, we are unfortunately no longer able to process such containers correctly and must dispose of them as hazardous waste.
Guidelines for returning empty containers
We therefore ask you to strictly follow the guidelines below when returning empty containers. Empty containers can only be accepted if:
- the drums or barrels have been rinsed or are completely dry/drained
- the packaging is sealed with the original cap
- there are no leftovers in the packaging
- the outside of the packaging is clean and undamaged
ADR legislation for transportation
Transport companies must also comply with strict ADR regulations regarding the return of packaging and the securement of loads during transport.
In practical terms, this means that:
- packaging containing residues cannot be returned,
- bottles and barrels must be placed on a pallet and secured in such a way that they cannot shift during transport. This can easily be done using stretch film or lashing straps,
- for ADR products, the UN numbers and hazard symbols must remain clearly visible on the outside.
If you prepare the packages correctly, our driver will be able to collect them without any problems and will note the number and type of packages on the consignment note.
To make it easier to pack empty containers properly, we offer handy stretch film that allows you to secure drums and cans firmly to the pallet for transport.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Together, we can ensure a safe working environment and the proper handling of packaging.
