Bert Wauters runs a pig farm with arable crops in East Flanders, where he looks after 250 sows and 1,600 fattening pigs every day. He was experiencing problems with poor growth in the fattening pigs, and there was also room for improvement with the piglets. He consulted with Indufarm to address this. What appealed to him about Indufarm was their comprehensive approach: support from start to finish, from analysing the groundwater to monitoring the results achieved with the system.
As soon as the installation was complete, Bert noticed an improvement in the animals’ health after just two or three months: the sows were drinking more water, which in turn led to increased milk production for the piglets, resulting in better growth in the piglets:
"Mortality rates among piglets are at least 2% lower than before, and medication is virtually no longer used (only on an individual basis and far less frequently than in the past), and certainly no longer as a preventive measure."
